Live for Today

It's a famous TV slogan, I think. I came across it for the first time in a movie theater. A catchy song that seemed so happy and good. Why do you think it is that I find "Live for today" rather... disturbing? Yeah, it's part of Albert Einstein's famous quote,("learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. the important thing is not to stop questioning") but just in itself, the song, the ideal behind that slogan... disturbs me. Makes me uneasy. People pursuing their dreams and "going for it", asking "why not?" instead of "why?". Sounds so good and fulfilling. But to my eyes the whole commercial just seemed... irresponsible. Sigh... I can't even express it fluently, because I'm a big supporter of pursuing your dream, of doing what you want to do. But that's only while being responsible and thoughtful. "live for today" gives me a sense of foreboding that i can't shake. i wonder why...
